Back to school - more than 50 years later

The vast majority of the boys from the above classes re-kindled their contacts with a Labour Weekend reunion at the school.

Under the guidance of Allan Finnie and a hard-working committee, the boys - many of whom brought their wives or partners - enjoyed a weekend of reminiscing, gathering for photos and several social occasions.

A number came from overseas with the furthest distance travelled by Ian Connor, who arrived from Canada.

There was a tinge of sadness to the gathering. Former Dunedin deputy Mayor and city businessman Bill Christie, who had been one of the instigators of the reunion, died suddenly while on holiday in Italy last month. He was remembered in various addresses during the weekend.
