The senior prize giving and celebration of sporting excellence for 2009 was held last week and below is the list of recipients:

Isaac Officer - 1st Biology, 1st Classical Studies, 2nd Calculus; Commendation in Chemistry and Physics .
Andrew Curtis-Black - 1st English, 1st History, 1st Chemistry, ,2nd Physics, 2nd= Biology; Commendation in Calculus
Jonas Lobitz - Outstanding young man. Leader of others but not afraid to roll up his sleeves. Quiet achiever a good academic with commendations in all 5 of his subject areas, member of the S.I second placed ski team, Hang Gliding and ice hockey team member.

This student has been nominated for the Clive Rennie Award because of a single heroic act.
In the Year 13 triathlon a number of students got into trouble in the swimming leg of the assessment. One of those students in particular had swum a reasonable distance off course and got into difficulty. The young man being presented with this award put aside his own assessment and possibly his own safety to assist his classmate while he awaited help.
The calming influence that this young man created while waiting for help was probably the difference between panic and the potential for loss of life, and his classmate being here today.
The staff present that day were full of praise for this student’s courage and attitude in the face of a difficult situation.
We would like to invite Cameron Gray to come forward and receive the Clive Rennie Award for courage.
