The combined Otago Boys’ and Otago Girls’ kapa haka groups played a major role in the opening of the New Zealand Choral Federation Big Sing Finale in the Dunedin Town Hall yesterday.
More than 700 singers from 22 leading New Zealand secondary school choirs were scheduled to take the stage for the event with the competing choirs selected from regional festivals in which 230 choirs and more than 7000 singers took part.
