Two Old Boys were honoured for their service to the accounting profession at an Institute of Accountants function in Dunedin last week.

A founding partner of Polson Higgs – Les Stewart (1947-51) – was presented with his 50-year membership certificate while Jim Valentine (1935) was presented with his 60-year membership certificate.
There was a nice touch to the evening with this year celebrating the Institute’s centennial.
The first president in 1908 was another Old Boy, Peter Barr (1875-77), who was both prominent in accounting circles and as a member of several visionary government commissions.
