Halberg Award nominees

Greg Henderson

Otago Boys’ High School looks certain to be well represented at the annual Halberg Awards dinner, to be staged in Auckland in early-February.

Among the nominations are world-class cyclist Greg Henderson (1990-94) and champion rower Hamish Bond (1999-2003).

Henderson is nominated in the Sportsman of the Year category with the highlight of a busy year being the winning of a stage in the Tour of Spain in September.

Bond is a nominee in the Sports Team of the Year, having combined with Eric Murray to win the
world coxless pairs title.

Four finalists in each category will be named next month with the Halberg Awards dinner scheduled for February 4th.
