Brent McLeod (1976-1980), an Auckland-based professional corporate and cabaret magician and a current member of the national Variety Artists Club, has taken out the award for the2009 Top Variety Act in New Zealand.
The award was given for his adult magic act performed around the country at corporate events, functions and conferences, and a number of touring stage theatre shows.
Brent, a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians (USA), and has worked with a number of international hypnotist colleagues who together have raised many tens of thousands of dollars for fundraising events including a two-night show for the Otago Boys’ High School Foundation in 2006.
