Joint Proxime accessit: Allan Brent (first in graphics and geography; first equal in statistics; second in physics, and a commendation in calculus), and;
James Rodger (first in accounting and economics; first equal in statistics and calculus; and a commendation in English).
Best all-round boy: Dion McCall (head of School House).
Best all-round sportsman: Craig Sneddon (deputy Head Boy).
Otago Boys' enjoyed a strong presence at the Pacific Schools' Games in Melbourne earlier in the month with no fewer than four chosen in the New Zealand track and field team - this was the biggest representation of any New Zealand school. Craig Sneddon, David Thompson, Adam Gavegan and Richard Mavor formed the quartet with Thompson the most successful - finishing second in the boys' 15-16 long jump with a leap of 7.09 metres, running the first leg in the winning New Zealand 4 x 100 metre relay team, finishing fifth in the javelin (56.07 metres) and seventh in the triple jump (12.99 metres).
