The Otago Boys’ High School Foundation’s first Chief Executive Steve Davie will be stepping down from the role at the end of the year.

Steve’s resignation was “accepted with sincere regret” at Monday’s Board of Management meeting and the search has begun for his replacement.
He leaves the Foundation is in extremely good heart with significant progress having been made since it was launched in June 2005. In the intervening years –
The Board of Management was always aware it was Steve’s intention from the outset to drive the Foundation from its implementation to a position where a solid, sustainable platform had been erected. He believes that point has been reached.
In speaking to his letter, Steve noted that without the support of its 400-plus (in the main) Old Boy donors, the Foundation would not have made the progress it has to date. And he urged those considering an involvement to make the commitment and continue the momentum. As the membership base grows, so will the Foundation’s funds, moving it closer to the ultimate goal of providing on-going assistance for specific ‘points of difference’ projects at the school. These projects will enhance the environment in which the school operates with the subsequent benefits then irrefutably transparent.
The Board of Management is disappointed to lose Steve’s enthusiasm and energy but wishes him every success in his future endeavours.
