Otago Boys’ High School has made a major contribution to the development of all boys who were fortunate to be educated at one of New Zealand’s finest secondary schools.
When invited to become the initial Patron of the Otago Boys’ High School Foundation, I took some time to reflect on what Otago Boys’ High School meant to me more than 50 years ago.
I started at Otago Boys’ as a boy and left as a man, and during five great years made many friends, enjoyed sport and learned enough to graduate from the University of Otago and pursue a professional career.
This reflection of what Otago Boys’ meant to me encouraged me to become a Founding Contributor to the Foundation and I invite all Old Boys to also do some soul searching about what the School meant to you, particularly during that critical period from 13 to 17 years of age.
I hope that after such reflection you will be moved to contribute generously to the Otago Boys’ High School Foundation.
